General Manager - Leisure Centre up to 50K
Oldbury
I am looking for a general manager to run a large leisure centre in Oldbury, the centre offers a high quality fitness and swimming facilities as well a wide range of outdoor pitches and tennis courts. With significant investment going into the gym there is an exceptional opportunity to grow the membership base to 3000 members whilst there is scope to further expand the learn to swim programme and to build more partnerships with schools, summer camp providers and community group to increase the occupancy of the sports pitches and dry side facilities.
We are keen to hear from candidates who has a proven track record as a GM who possesses the all-round leadership, commercial and operational skills to take this £1.5m+ turnover business onto the next level by coaching and supporting the team to consistently deliver outstanding customer service and operational excellence across the business. Ideally you can demonstrate a proven track record running a similar large local authority leisure centre, family focused private health club or potentially a background as a GM running a significant family entertainment business centre. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring your teams are set up to meet and consistently delivering operational excellence.
- Recruit, coach, and inspire your managers and teams to deliver exceptional customer service to be reflected in the NPS scores.
- Delivering on key financial targets for DD membership, learn to swim, casual swimming and pitch bookings.
- Take a proactive approach to building and developing partnerships with local schools and community groups.
- Constantly analyse business performance, data and trends and take appropriate action to keep the business on track.
- Focus on achieving an outstanding Quest accreditation and the highest levels of health and safety.
As general manager you will be managing through a team of around 50 full and part time staff and will be expected to work a combination of shifts during the week and typically one weekend in 3.
In addition to a competitive basic salary of up to £50,000 dependent on experience , the position offers the huge benefit of enrolment onto the local government pension scheme, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
